Dundonnel - 30 January - 1 February 2004

This is an extremely spectacular corner of the northwest, made to seem more so by its remoteness from Dundee. An Teallach is undoubtedly the main interest in the area, rivalling the Anoach Egach as the most exhilarating ridge outside of the Cuillin of Skye. If you don't have a head for heights though, there are plenty of less difficult routes on the nearby Fannichs and Beinn Dearg, although beware, some of these offer very long days out. The less ambitious might like to climb the small coastal peak of Beinn Ghobhlach, or walk along the side of Little Loch Broom. The only downside to the Smiddy hut is that space is very limited. Not to worry though, everyone will just have to squeeze up a bit!

Landranger sheets 19 or 20 are suggested.
