Lochnagar - 21 - 23 November 2003 / 23 November 2003 / 22 February 2004

Lochnagar is the Royal mountain, lying as it does in the Balmoral estate. There are many worthwhile routes here, with a choice of ways to the summit, as well as other worthy hills including Cairn Bannoch and Broad Cairn. There are winter routes in the north facing corrie if it is in condition, and more leisurely types can stroll around Loch Muick. If you are here for the weekend, you will be staying in Glass Allt Shiel bothy, maintained by your very own DURC! This is an ideal location for a party, but pack light because you will have to walk the final 2 miles on a (mainly flat) track. Don't forget your stove as there are no facilities here.

You will need landranger sheet 44.
