The club has a long established history of supporting its members in all outdoor activities. Over the years, we have put together a comprehensive store of equipment that we make available to members old and new. If you bring the boots, we can give you most of the rest - from jackets to crampons, head torches to sleeping bags, just come along to the gear store. Open every week during term-time (usually around 7pm on Thursdays, watch announcements for opening times), the gear store and our friendly Gear Secretary will look after all your equipment needs. Remember, those boots were made for walking, but you'll need a few more things to make you ready for the Scottish hills. The kit list shows what gear is needed for meets, and which of these items can be borrowed from the gear store. Equipment hire is subject to a £20 deposit, with the exception of "winter gear" (ice axes & crampons) which is subject to a £60 deposit. We ask you to bring a cheque with your name, email address, and telephone number on the back. As long as everything you borrow is returned undamaged the following Thursday, we won't touch those cheques. We look forward to seeing you out on the hills! See the kit list page for information on when "winter gear" is needed. The club also has a selection of maps which can be borrowed - see the map library page for details.
How to find the Gear Store
The gear store has moved. It is now located at 18 Airlie Place (behind the DUSA building):
