Dundee University Rucksack Club has a long established history of supporting its members in all outdoor activities. Over the years, we have collected a comprehensive store of equipment that we make available to DURCers old and new. If you bring the boots, we can give you anything from jackets to crampons, head torches to sleeping bags, just come along to the Gear Store.
Open every Thursday during term-time (time tba), the Gear Store and our friendly Gear Secretary will look after all your equipment needs. Remember, those boots were made for walking, but you'll need a few more things to make you ready for the Scottish hills. So turn up and talk to us. All equipment hire is subject to a sixty pounds deposit. We ask you to bring a cheque with your name, email address, and telephone number on the back. As long as everything you borrow is returned undamaged the next Thursday, we won't touch those cheques. We look forward to seeing you out on the hills!
The Gear Store has MOVED. We now have a new store in the BSI building which should be more secure and less prone to damp problems. The entrance to the new store is via its own door around on the left side of the building if you are on Dow Street facing the main entrance. This map shows how to find the new Gear Store:-
